Church Weddings
A solo flutist sounds beautiful at a church or chapel wedding. Solo flute music is a graceful, intimate alternative to traditional church organ music. Some people may think that a single flute player can't fill an entire church, but that's not the case. The special, enchanting sound of an unaccompanied flute can fill any church as David has done on many occasions in churches and chapels across Massachusetts as well as in Southern New Hampshire and Northern Rhode Island.
If you are having a church wedding there may be special restrictions on the type of music that can be performed at your ceremony. This is particularly true if your wedding ceremony includes a Catholic Mass, in which case selections will consist of classical flute music and sacred music. David is well versed and experienced in selecting and tailoring your wedding ceremony music to best suit the requirements of any church.

David has also been a solo flute player for many outdoor weddings held in the bride's, groom's or family member's home, either in the house or the backyard.

My Heart Ever Faithful by JS Bach, is a charming, romantic selection that is especially appropriate for a candle lighting ceremony for after a reading.
Minuet by Rameau, is an excellent joyous piece for the wedding recessional.
Dance, by Schubert, as a processional for the bridal party and bride, is an exceptional alternative to the usual traditional Bridal March or Wedding March.
When you book your wedding, David will send you a CD if you like, which will help you in choosing your wedding service music. This CD contains sample wedding processionals, recessionals, prelude music and service music, all played by David on solo flute. After you're married, this flute CD can serve as part of your wedding remembrance package.
David can also use his years of experience as a professional musician to help guide you in deciding which musical selections will work best for you in order to customize each part of your marriage ceremony to your own individual preferences. If you prefer, you may leave the selection of music up to David, where you can rest assured that he will chose beautiful flute music that is appropriate to your ceremony setting.
David also has an extensive repertoire of light jazz and show music that is perfect on the solo flute for your cocktail hour, function, garden party or other special event.
Duo Option
Unaccompanied flute music, as played by David Summer is a complete, elegant wedding ceremony musical experience in and of itself. However, if you feel you'd like to add another element to your music during the service, the guitar is a perfect compliment to the flute. David has worked at wedding ceremonies and other functions with many wonderful professional guitar players as well, and can make all the necessary arrangements to augment your wedding ceremony music to a flute and guitar duo, if you like.
